I was listening to Neal Boortz this morning and he was reading a story
about one of our soldiers that had been injured so severely in Iraq
that he was unable to return to duty. In response, the Defense
Department sent him a letter informing him that he would have to return
around $3000 of his enlistment bonus because he didn't fulfill his
commitment.
What the f#&k?!
It's bad enough that this soldier was permanently disabled in
service to his company. But now bureaucratic pencil pushers in the
Pentagon are trying to bleed him for his signing bonus? This kind of
governmental b.s. is why I'm a libertarian.
When I find some more info I will post it, hopefully with a news link.
